i been here several times and i must say i like it never had any problems and the owners are very nice and also the rooms are very nice.
Don’t be fooled by the location! They’ve been there for years and it’s VERY SAFE! I just moved here from Florida and I’ve been to some pretty rough places in my life; Nothing like Oakland. I had my first hotel room robbed when I stayed at the airport hotel, had my car “bipped” when I stayed at a place in downtown Oakland… then I found this hidden gem! The rooms are great! Recently remodeled, VERY clean, NO BUGS!!!, and soft beds! Now…as for the employees of the facility… there was a young lady there whom I assumed to possibly be the owners daughter… ABSOLUTELY wonderful human being! She’s open to questions, didn’t mind explaining the dos and don’t of the area and kept a smile on her face! The owner? Fantastic guy! Real chill vibe type of person. Takes his business VERY seriously but is an immensely kind individual! I’m a night owl, I mean I rarely EVER sleep and while I was there (4-5 day period) I would notice him patrolling the grounds! Not to mention that he’s been open for i believe 2.5 decades so he’s been able to establish a well rounded relationship with local PD. I say that to say, his property is known as a “No Nonsense” area! Less than 2 blocks away are “competing” motels… if you don’t want to believe my review… go have a look at those. The rooms have been re-done,personally to each it's own it depends on what you expect to get for 80$ on MacArthur in EAST OAKLAND,But compared to the rest Of give them a great review yes the owners are very very VERY NOSEY BUT IF YOU ARE THERE FOR THE RIGHT REASONS????WHICH IS TO ENJOY YOUR STAY INSIDE YOUR ROOM MANAGEMENT WILL GIVE YOU NO PROBLEMS I LOVE THE FACT THAT THEY STAY ON TOP OF THE UNWANTED RIFT-RAFT MAKES ME A LOT MORE COMFORTABLE AND AT EASE REGARDLESS OF THE AREA....ROOMS ARE CLEAN BUT I ALWAYS BRING OWN SPRAYS FOR BEDS AND NEVER SLEEP WITH TOP BLANKET AT ANY ROOM UNLESS IT'S FRESH OUT THE WASHER AND DRYER! !!!!!YOUR CHOICE. ........
